Ever wondered who managed to convince Port Macquarie Hastings Council to install an asphalt pump track at Wayne Richards Park? That person was Justin Farrell - our club president.

Back before he launched the new club - Justin approached council in 2019 to upgrade the previous dirt pump track with a modern asphalt track complete with landscaping. The old dirt track was wind and water eroded and coating the local residents houses with red dust. The surface was useless for riding after rainfall and was poorly designed.

Council gave Justin the approval to seek funding for the much needed track upgrade. Justin went to the community with surveys to prove the community wanted this track upgrade and sought letters of support from local schools who were only to happy to help. After two years of grant applications it was council who won a federal government grant and in March of 2022 the new track was opened,

“It gives me a great deal of pleasure seeing the community enjoy this facility and a great deal of satisfaction knowing that my efforts made it happen. We now have a great track that’s free to use and we can all enjoy it for many years to come”.
